I have been trying to update some of the features of Buckeye Herps and Wolverine Herps which have gone neglected for a couple years.  I also am trying to add new content to the blog.  In the meantime, please enjoy a little buzzworm action...

Michigan and our Love/Hate relationship

After having a few days off in which the clouds decided to dump rain all day with very cold temps, or even just flat out snow, I managed to drag myself out of bed and hit the field with a dismal weather forecast for the day.


Sun poked out though, the day grew bright, and fun was had by all.

Joy deciding whether a racer tastes like her usual fare of birds and squirrels.

More to come.  I need to wrap up a ton of Hawaii stuff too.  It's a great thing to have to much content to post.

Hawai'i Geckos!

I mentioned in earlier posts that all of the Hawai'ian geckos are invasive species.  The day geckos have become extremely common on the islands though and most Hawai'ians have adopted them as a mascot of sorts, especially after the success of the Geico gecko.  How can you not love the little guys?

Sometimes.  Like today.

Woke up and was greeted by mid30s temps and a little less than an inch of snow.  On my day off. On April 18th.

I chose not to legitimize the event by taking a picture.  Hopefully I can forget this ever happened.

This got a ton of airplay while I was in Hawaii and I fell in love with the chill feel.  I definitely associate most of my Hawaii herping trips with some Mumford and Sons.
